Respect Week 2026

Learn the line — and know where to get support

Feeling safe and respected is essential to learning, placement, and student life  at TAFE SA and beyond. Respect is about everyday behaviour. How we speak to each other, understand boundaries, and respond when something doesn’t feel right.

Respect Week doesn’t have a set date. It can be recognised at any time, because respect, safety, and support matter all year round. It’s an opportunity to pause, reflect, and share practical resources that support your wellbeing, whenever they’re needed.

Learn the line

The Line, developed by Our Watch, is an interactive, scenario‑based game. It explores real‑life situations involving consent, communication, and respectful relationships. It helps us reflect on:

  • where behaviour crosses a line
  • how social norms and peer pressure can influence decisions
  • what respectful behaviour looks like at study, at work, and in everyday life

The scenarios are designed to encourage reflection and conversation. It helps people recognise respectful behaviour and understand when something isn’t okay.

Know where to get support

If you experience or witness behaviour that makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or worried, you don’t have to manage it on your own. Support is available:

Support is available whether the behaviour happens at TAFE SA, during placement, online, or outside of TAFE SA.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and respected

Knowing where the line is, and knowing how to get help, helps create a safer, more respectful TAFE SA community for everyone.

Respect Week is a sector‑led initiative across the VET sector, with resources available nationally to support safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environments.
