Thinking about getting a dog or just want a very cute reason to take more study breaks? Four adorable greyhounds are currently looking for their forever homes through TAFE SA’s veterinary training program.

As part of their time with PETSinTuition, these retired racing greyhounds spend time on campus getting used to everyday life. From meeting new people, exploring different environments to learning the skills they’ll need to become relaxed family pets.

Now they’re ready for their next adventure: finding a home with someone who’s happy to trade a bit of couch space for a very loyal companion.

Meet the greyhounds currently up for adoption:

 

Billy

Age: 4 years

Sex: Male

Desexed: Yes

Billy is a confident, playful greyhound who thrives on being the centre of attention. He’s always excited to meet new people and happily leans in for pats once he settles down. When he’s not soaking up affection, Billy enjoys playing with his toys and doing the occasional burst of zoomies during playtime.

Good to know about Billy:

  • Very affectionate and people-loving

  • Loves toys and interactive play

  • Can get excited and may jump or pull

  • Generally walks well on a loose lead

  • Still learning manners around other dog breeds

  • Best as an only dog or with a tolerant medium–large female dog

  • No cats or pocket pets

  • Suitable for apartments or small yards

  • Best with children 8+

Jazzy

Desexed: Yes

Jazzy is a friendly and affectionate girl who enjoys meeting new people and staying close to her humans. She might get a little excited at first, but once she gets some attention she quickly settles into cuddle mode. While she enjoys toys and playtime, Jazzy is happiest when she’s getting pats.

Good to know about Jazzy:

  • Very cuddly and people-focused

  • Enjoys toys but prefers pats and cuddles

  • Gets along with dogs of all sizes

  • Can live as an only dog or with another tolerant dog

  • May pull at the start of walks but settles into loose-lead walking

  • Suitable for apartments or small yards

  • Can live with confident children aged 5+

  • Untested with cats or pocket pets

Desi

Desi is a happy, affectionate greyhound who loves attention and isn’t shy about asking for cuddles. She has a playful personality and enjoys keeping herself busy with toys. One of her favourite things is water. If there’s a chance to splash around, Desi will happily take it.

Good to know about Desi:

  • Very people-loving and affectionate

  • Loves water and playing with toys

  • Friendly with other dog breeds but still learning polite greetings

  • Best as an only dog or with a tolerant medium–large independent dog

  • Walks well on a loose lead and enjoys outings

  • Travels well in the car

  • Suitable for apartments or small yards

  • Best with children aged 5+

  • Untested with cats or pocket pets

Bree

Bree is a calm and gentle greyhound who enjoys a quiet, relaxed environment. She’s affectionate in a soft, laid-back way and loves settling in for peaceful cuddles. Bree also has a playful streak, especially when it comes to her favourite stuffed toys, which she loves carrying around.

Good to know about Bree:

  • Quiet, calm and gentle nature

  • Loves stuffed toys and playtime

  • Best suited as the only dog in the home

  • Good with other dogs on lead but can get excited off lead

  • Lovely loose-lead walker who enjoys exploring

  • Children aged 10+ recommended

  • Backyard helpful for zoomies but not essential

  • Travels well in the car but needs help getting in

  • Untested with cats or pocket pets
