IDAHOBIT Art Competition

TAFE SA Art Competition for IDAHOBIT and Wear it Purple Day
Overview: TAFE SA is excited to announce an art competition in celebration of IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) and Wear it Purple Day. This competition aims to raise awareness and promote inclusivity and acceptance within our community through artistic expression.

Competition Dates
Launch: 17 May 2024 (IDAHOBIT Day)
Submission Deadline: 31 July 2024
Winners Announcement: 30 August 2024 (Wear it Purple Day)
How to Participate
Submit a maximum of one artwork, no larger than A4 dimensions. Digital works and videos should not exceed 30 seconds in length.
Artworks can be submitted either in person at any TAFE SA student hub or digitally to
studenthubadelaide@tafesa.edu.au
.
There are no limitations on the mediums that can be used. Participants can submit physical works such as drawings, paintings, or sculptures, as well as digital works including videos and digital art.
Participants consent to having their work displayed at the Adelaide City Campus prior to judging and for the duration of the exhibition.
Prizes
People's Choice Prize: $200
LGBTQIA+ Community Prize: $200
Ally Prize: $200
Judging Criteria
People's Choice Prize: Awarded to the work with the most online form votes from the broader TAFE SA community.
LGBTQIA+ Community Prize and Ally Prize: Judged by a panel of TAFE SA staff members, based on artistic skill, themes, messaging conveyed within the work, and overall aesthetics.
Submission Details
Participants have until 31 July 2024 to submit their works.
Works can be submitted digitally to
studenthubadelaide@tafesa.edu.au
or in person at any TAFE SA student hub.
Whilst every effort will be made to ensure digital works are displayed on screen, some may be printed in colour to ensure they can be displayed within the exhibition.
Participants must provide the following details at the point of submission:
Artist name
Artist phone number
Artist email address
Title of work
Description of work
Category (community or ally).
Only the name and title of the work will be displayed publicly. Participants may request to have their work exhibited anonymously.
Exhibition and Collection
Submitted works will be exhibited at the Adelaide City Campus after the competition closes and prior to the announcement of winners on 30 August 2024. Submitted works may be shortlisted by the judging panel prior to the exhibition commencing.
Competition winners will be asked to exhibit their works for a period of 2 months after the announcement of winners.
Participants must collect their submitted works from the Adelaide City Campus after the competition by no later than Friday 27 September 2024. Uncollected works may be destroyed after this date.
