Adelaide Fringe 2024: Lewis Major and TAFE SA Unveil a Dynamic Season of Dance, Circus, and Physical Theatre

Lewis Major in collaboration with Adelaide Fringe and TAFE SA, is thrilled to announce its exhilarating season at the 2024 festival, curated and produced in-house by Lewis Major. This ground-breaking season will feature 182 performances across 11 shows, including 4 world premieres and 4 Australian premieres.

Embracing a global outlook while maintaining a strong local focus, the season brings together a diverse array of local, national, and international artists, including five international companies, alongside Lewis Major's award-winning ensemble of dancers.

With works from Taiwan, the UK and across Europe, as well as First Nations, disability-led and local emerging artists presenting, we are proud to continue our collaboration with AC Arts to present the best of dance, circus and physical theatre at Adelaide Fringe 2024.


Highlights of the season include:


Maliphant x Major (SA) - WORLD PREMIERE: A new collaboration between Russell Maliphant OBE (UK) and Lewis Major's company, presenting internationally acclaimed repertoire, previously exclusive to major ballet companies in Europe and America. This is a rare opportunity for Australian audiences to witness these masterpieces performed by South Australian dancers.

I(CE) (S)CREAM Boléro Femme and THE OTHER SIDE - WORLD PREMIERE: A feminist double bill by Liat Kedem (SA) and Jill Crovisier (Luxembourg), showcasing groundbreaking choreography and powerful narratives.

Rich Mix - WORLD PREMIERE (SA): A groundbreaking platform for South Australian and national emerging artists to showcase their work at Adelaide Fringe, without any upfront costs. This mixed bill introduces fresh, innovative works to Australian audiences.


Duo (Taiwan) by 0471 Acro Physical Theatre - AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE: Following sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, this Taiwanese troupe debuts in Australia, offering a unique blend of acrobatics and visual storytelling.

Lien (SA): The award-winning one-on-one performance by Lewis Major, celebrated for its intimate portrayal of human connection and empathy, returns after triumphing at Fringe 2023 and Sydney Fringe 2023.


FK with Cancer (SA): An open and authentic story of one woman’s pursuit to keep her fire alive through the craziness of cancer treatment and life as a single Mum.


Dusty Feet Mob (SA) - WORLD PREMIERE: This new show from the beloved First Nations dance group from Pt Augusta, featuring young dancers, weaves a narrative of reconciliation, resilience, and strength.

Water Mirror - SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE: A fusion of Japanese rhythms by Taikoz and contemporary dance by Paulina Quinteros, this spectacular closes Adelaide Fringe 2024 with a grand performance. 


Yippee Ki Yay (UK): Richard Marsh's acclaimed one-man show humorously retells the classic film Die Hard, offering a delightful blend of comedy and homage.


Black Is The Colour of my Voice (UK) - AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE: Inspired by the life of Nina Simone, this new cabaret performance by Apphia Campbell and Seabright Productions reflects AC Arts' commitment to international collaborations.
