Signing of Fee Free TAFE agreement

TAFE SA welcomes the announcement that the South Australian State Government has signed a 12-month Skills Agreement with the Australian Government. On Friday, 18 November 2022, the Hon Blair Boyer MP, Minister for Education, Training and Skills and the Federal Minister for Skills and Training, the Hon Brendan O’Connor MP, jointly signed the Agreement at TAFE SA’s Tonsley Campus, to deliver 12,500 fee free training places in South Australia.

This agreement is another step towards the government’s goal of ensuring that Australians have access to the skills they need for the jobs of the future.

TAFE SA plays an important role as South Australia’s largest Vocational Education and Training provider and we are committed to supporting the Fee Free TAFE priority groups:

  • First Nations people
  • Young people
  • Job seekers
  • Unpaid carers
  • Women in non-traditional fields of study
  • People with disability
  • VISA holders (certain categories)

The TAFE SA courses that are available as part of the Fee Free TAFE and vocational education initiative are intended to contribute to South Australia’s economic growth and align national and state priority sectors:

  • Hospitality and tourism
  • Sovereign capability
  • Technology and digital
  • Creative Industries
  • Education
  • Foundation Skills
