Mental Health Awareness Month (October) and World Mental Health Day (10 October) are global strategies to raise awareness about the importance of good mental health and wellbeing.  It's a timely reminder about the need to protect our mental health and wellbeing, and look out for those around us who many need support.

Being active and making small changes in your daily routines are some of the ways to enhance your wellbeing.  At TAFE SA, we are encouraging our students to get involved in one of our wellbeing activities during October.

Little Changes Challenge

TAFE SA's annual Little Changes Challenge is a 7-day wellbeing challenge which aims to inspire little changes in your life to improve your wellbeing.  You can find out about the challenges being undertaken by our 2022 Little Changes Challenge ambassadors on our website and challenge yourself to get involved. Learn more at Little Changes Challenge.

South Australia's Billion Steps Challenge

An initiative of Wellbeing SA, the Billion Steps Challenge aims to help reach the state goal of 1,000,000,000 steps.  While the challenge started on 01 October, teams can join in at any stage in the month.  Get a team together or enter on your own at the SA Wellbeing Billion Steps Challenge.

Get Support for your Mental Health

If, at any stage, you or a peer needs additional support with your mental health and wellbeing, please remember that our Student Success and Wellbeing team offer a free counselling service for students.  You can book an appointment to chat to a counsellor via teams or phone and find out about a range of wellbeing and mental health related support on our Student Counselling webpage.
