Assessments

As you progress through your course, your skills, knowledge and competence will be assessed using a range of methods.

Learning Opportunities:

LEARN (online Classroom)	Content and assessment will be available via the LEARN (online classroom) and the recommended texts will provide additional learning content. You will be given notification via email and access to the LEARN unit two weeks prior to the scheduled workshop. Workshop / Contact session	Compulsory attendance at Workshop / Contact sessions is required. This will include learning activities and the opportunity to participate in practical skills practice. Compulsory practical assessment is undertaken. Vocational placement	In accordance with the Training Package requirements students are required to successfully demonstrate a range of skills in a Vocational Placement/Workplace. Your lecturer will let you know the length of the placement and which units of competency are assessed during placement. Workplace based training	Students who are employed will be able to complete their learning and assessment programs fully on-the-job, with support from TAFE SA lecturers. There is also the option of attending TAFE SA for training and assessment blocks.	Third Party Verification Log books
Prior Learning	Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) (applicable to Vocational Education Training students) or Credit for Prior Learning (applicable to Higher Education students) involves the assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system. Discuss the application process for recognition of a subject/unit with your lecturer.
