The Eduroam wireless network is a world-wide roaming service, developed for the research and education community, providing secure wireless internet access for participating institutions.

Eduroam and is available on the TAFE SA wireless network at the campuses listed below:

  • Adelaide Metropolitan
  • Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula
  • Barossa and Riverland
  • Eyre Peninsula
  • Far North
  • Limestone Coast

TAFE SA participates in Eduroam as both a Service and Identity Provider:

  • Service Provider (SP) – TAFE SA provides access to the Eduroam wireless network for users of participating institutions who are configured as Identity Providers
  • Identity Provider (iDP) – TAFE SA participates in identity verification, allowing TAFE SA users to connect to the Eduroam network at TAFE SA campuses and participating institutions

Eduroam For TAFE SA Staff and Students

TAFE SA staff and students are encouraged to connect their own devices to the Eduroam wireless network using their TAFE SA network credentials (email address) to gain access to this service at TAFE SA campuses.

Once configured on your device, when you attend another participating Institution’s campus, you will be automatically connected to the Eduroam wireless network and provided with internet access. This will allow you to access your TAFE SA Email and other internet-based resources such as TAFE SA Learn.

Access to any TAFE SA internal resources will still require a TAFE SA VPN, and may not be available dependent on the participating institutions Eduroam usage policy.

Most devices will automatically configure for the Eduroam network however some vendors may not support this functionality. For information on configuring your device, please follow the appropriate guide below, ensuring you replace the wireless network names or SSID listed with the network name ‘eduroam’.

Eduroam For Visitors to TAFE SA Campuses

If you are an active student or member of an organisation which participates Eduroam, you may be eligible to use the Eduroam wireless network whilst at a TAFE SA Campus.

  • Users from participating Australian Institutions should visit their website or Eduroam for Users for information on connecting.
  • International users should visit their Institution’s website or the Eduroam site for information on connecting.

Configuration settings are usually provided by your Institution, and we highly recommend configuring and testing your Eduroam wireless network connection whilst on your home campus or site before visiting a participating Institution and accessing their Eduroam service.
