Want to be your own boss? Study Entrepreneurship and New Business!
Feb 07, 2023
For graduates who are thinking of starting their own business after completing studies at
TAFE SA, it’s important to take a step back before diving into your new endeavour.
Starting a small business can be both exciting and challenging, and with the right mindset, preparation and determination, you could turn your business idea into a reality.
Most TAFE SA graduates usually get invaluable experience with an employer before starting their own venture. Working for an employer first will not only give you hands-on experience but an understanding of the inner workings of a business. It will give you a much clearer idea of what to expect before you start your own venture.
You could also take on further study to take away the guess work and risk of setting up your own small business.
TAFE SA is currently offering two small business courses to provide you with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that will be essential to starting and running a successful small business.
The
Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business [BSB30220]
and the
Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business [BSB40320]
are both available to study via online delivery, which means you can study when it suits you. You can log in and watch lecturers in your own time and still have access to you teaching staff for support.
Some areas of study include:
compliance and risk for new business ventures
financial planning and marketing
research, business plans and proposals.
Tamara Woodley of Wallaroo has been enjoying the flexibility of being able to complete the entire course online and says ‘working full-time, I’m only able to study at night or on the weekends and TAFE SA makes is super easy to do. The lecturers are always accessible and there to help with any questions.’
We’re certain that in no time at all, Tamara will be successfully managing her own business.
Although there are many challenges in setting up a small business, being your own boss and taking charge of your own destiny is well worth it. Having a small business qualification behind you is incredibly valuable and will help to put you on the right path to success.
