Smarthinking service hours and limits

Service Hours:

Monday to Sunday, 24/7

Time Allocation:

 You can access up to 3 hours of help per term

  • Time limits include access to the writing centre, drop-in, and scheduled tutoring sessions.
  • If you are enrolled at TAFE SA. your hours will reset at the end of each term. 
Make the most of your Time Allocation:

TAFE SA Term Allocation Periods 2022

Term 1 2022 01 January to 01 May
Term 2 2022 02 May to 24 July
Term 3 2022 25 July to 16 October
Term 4 2022 17 October to 31 December
  • Manage your time allocation by only submitting ONE DRAFT of your written assignment.  Once you have reviewed the feedback, make the necessary changes and then submit your updated version to your lecturer.

  • Remember that you have access to additional support services to get support for your learning
  • Your lecturers are the experts in the course that you are studying, and they are your first point of call.
  • Depending on your study needs, you can get personalised face-to-face or online assistance from Library Staff which is freely accessible to all students. 
  • To check if you are eligible to request additional hours, or if you have a question or comment about Smarthinking, please supply us with your Name, TAFE SA Student ID, the course you are studying, and submit your request via email.

    For drop in tutoring services, you can get immediate support from a tutor 24/7.  You can also submit an 'offline' question or submit your written work to receive feedback, which will get a response within 24 hours.
