To be able to learn and perform at your best, it’s important to take on some strategies that support a healthy wellbeing.

Feeling good is a combination of how we think and how healthy we are. Sleeping and eating well, exercising regularly, staying positive and having a healthy work, life and study balance can help to keep your body and mind on track while studying.

Take a look at these wellbeing tips from THE DESK.

  • SLEEP – Sleep is critical for general wellbeing and learning, and as adults we need on average 7.5 to 8 hours sleep per night.  Are you sleeping well?
  • STAYING ACTIVE – Regular exercise helps to lower stress levels, improve mood, memory and learning. It provides your mind with rest, and health to your body. Take a stroll or a quick walk today and get some fresh air!
  • NUTRITION – Nutritious food and an active lifestyle supports good health and wellbeing.  What we eat and drink affects our stress and energy levels. Try to drink plenty of water and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day.  We are what we eat.
  • ORGANISATION – Organising your time to spend on study, work, family, recreation and fun will assist you in getting things done. Effective time management strategies will support you to fit all you need to do in your busy day/week. Time management will help you be organised.
  • GOAL SETTING – Our goals are what is important to us and what we want out of life. Goals can provide motivation and a purposeful reference point for decision making and setting life direction.  They can help us prioritise and keep focused.
  • STAYING CONNECTED – Having connections with others helps to reduce stress and can enhance your learning experience and outcomes.  Who’s in your network?
